Why Trust the Bible?
Inspired by God
We believe the Bible is not merely a human book but the very Word of God, breathed out by the Holy Spirit through human authors. Because its ultimate Author is God, the Bible is completely true in everything it affirms and carries God’s own authority for what we must believe and how we must live.
Historically Reliable
The Bible is rooted in real history, real places, and real people. Its events intersect with verifiable history, and its claims have been confirmed again and again by archaeology, ancient manuscripts, and extra-biblical sources. The New Testament, in particular, is supported by thousands of early manuscripts, far surpassing other ancient writings.
Consistent and Unified
Though written over many centuries by numerous authors in different cultures and circumstances, the Bible speaks with a remarkable unity. From Genesis to Revelation it tells one unfolding story: creation, fall, redemption, and restoration through Jesus Christ. This deep coherence points beyond human wisdom to a divine mind overseeing the whole.
Prophetically Confirmed
The Bible contains detailed prophecies that have been fulfilled in history, especially in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. These fulfilled prophecies are powerful evidence that Scripture comes from the God who knows and rules the future.
Christ-Centered and Life-Changing
Jesus Christ treated the Scriptures as the very Word of God and affirmed their truth and authority. His life, miracles, death, and resurrection vindicate His claims, and He in turn validates the Scriptures. Throughout history, the Bible has transformed lives, families, and entire cultures, bringing people from darkness to light, from bondage to freedom, and from death to life.
Tested and Preserved
For centuries the Bible has been attacked, criticized, and banned, yet it continues to stand and spread across the world. God has faithfully preserved His Word through the ages so that every generation can hear the gospel and know His will.
