Unveiling the Divide
Jehovah's Witnesses' Beliefs Versus Sound Doctrine
Jehovah’s Witnesses present a theological framework that significantly diverges from orthodox Christianity in several critical areas. While their teachings may initially sound Christian, a closer examination reveals that they deny key tenets such as the deity of Christ, His physical resurrection, and salvation by grace.
Their foundational beliefs include the view that Jesus was a human being who received His divinity as a gift from God the Father and that He was the first being created by Jehovah. They assert that Jesus lived a sinless life, was crucified on a single stake, and was resurrected by Jehovah. Key doctrinal denials include the rejection of the Trinity, the deity of Christ, the personality of the Holy Spirit, biblical atonement, the bodily resurrection of Christ, and salvation through faith alone.
Importantly, their concept of salvation is works-based, requiring active involvement in activities organized by the Watchtower Society, such as visitation, Bible studies, and regular meeting attendance. The Society does not provide guarantees of eternal salvation; instead, it insists that members must "endure to the end."
Furthermore, they claim that true Christianity disappeared shortly after the apostles’ deaths and was only restored when Charles Taze Russell established the Watchtower organization, viewing all other churches as "tools of the devil."
