Dr Dan Brubaker:
The Qur'anic manuscripts

Dr. Daniel Brubaker is a recognized scholar in Qur’anic textual criticism, specializing in early Qur’anic manuscripts from the 7th to 10th centuries. Earning his Ph.D. from Rice University in 2014 with a dissertation titled Intentional Changes in Qurʾan Manuscripts, he has made significant contributions to the documentation and analysis of textual variants, corrections, and scribal features in early Qur’anic codices. His research, including the book Corrections in Early Qurʾān Manuscripts: Twenty Examples, reflects a meticulous, evidence-based approach that emphasizes the material history of the Qur’anic text rather than theological debate. Through his academic publications, conference presentations, and involvement in organizations such as the International Qur’anic Studies Association and the Islamic Manuscript Association, Dr. Brubaker has established himself as a leading expert in the textual and material study of early Qur’an manuscripts.
